FMD tegevjuht Kaire Tammer rääkis paneelis digitaliseerimisest

FMD CEO Kaire Tammer spoke about digitalization at the panel

Kaire Tammer spoke on the panel of the Accountants’ Association’s autumn conference on October 17th, together with other innovative accounting firm managers. Examples of accounting automation, digitalization tools, more exciting developments and the advent of artificial intelligence were shared. The topic was discussed – what impact has digitalization brought to the everyday work of accountants.

  • Panel topic: Fridays free – advertising or reality?

Thoughts about participating in the panel

Digital tools

One of the key topics was digital tools. We have been using convenient tools that help streamline processes for some time and have trusted digitalization systems. The goal is to process data only once, reducing repetitive tasks and reducing human errors. Cooperation between ERP and accounting software and integrated data movement are also important.

Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence is undoubtedly changing the nature of our profession. Automation technologies are taking over repetitive tasks, allowing accountants to focus on high-value activities such as financial planning and strategic consulting.

  • Artificial intelligence improves risk management by analyzing large data sets and identifying patterns.
  • Artificial intelligence enables proactive and operational financial advice.

Competition

To stay competitive, accountants must acquire new skills such as data analysis and interpreting the knowledge generated by AI. Continuous learning and adapting to technological developments are crucial in the digital age. Embracing change and being open to new opportunities is essential. Accountants are not always naturally open to innovation or seeking new opportunities. This requires a team of opportunity seekers, innovators and implementers who put together a well-functioning puzzle of a team.

The role of an accountant

Accountants can play an important role in initiating digital change processes and promoting a digital mindset in organizations. Accountants can be leaders of digitalization in their organizations. Estonian (industrial) companies lag behind the European average in digitalization.

Free Fridays?

“For me, it’s like a metaphor for offering a better work-life balance. I really try to allow my colleagues more free time in the future, because digitalization has made it possible to better disperse workflows.”

Kaire Tammer

The Estonian National Defense Academy conference brought together nearly 200 accounting specialists for a day of enriching discussions. Let’s continue to promote innovation and shape the future of the accounting profession together! When I did a seminar with Directo and Costpocket in May, I was surprised to find that we are among the most progressive in digitalizing our clients’ accounting. But it has definitely paid off, as it creates convenience, satisfaction, and a stable workflow for everyone.

Thank you for the opportunity to share your thoughts and contribute!
